Meet Mohsin Tariq – The man behind Orchid Chinese & Thai Restaurant

So we got hold of the Latest Restauranteur in town, Moshin Tariq from Orchid Chinese & Thai Restaurant. Hes just gotten back to the country with a spicy thai bang!

Could your Briefly tell us about yourself?

I am an enthusiastic entrepreneur taking up different challenges in creative industry.I myself am known as an artist to my friends. Photography is my ultimate passion since early school days. I love interior designing, taking up innovative projects.

Do you have a professional degree or prior experience in this business?

My professional degree is in Mass Communication and Visual Arts. I have also accomplished a Masters degree in Education. During my studies in Canada, I worked part time in a restaurant.

When and how did your start this restaurant?

We started Orchid in September 2011. I am a keen lover of hosting dinners for my friends and families. My best friend from Canada; Tony Lau owns four Restaurants in Hong Kong; helped me a lot with food & vegetable supplies from Hong Kong. I proudly say that we are one the restaurants using the best Authentic ingredients for our Chinese & Thai food. I would say there is a lot of credit goes to him giving best quality of food.

What is your vision/plan with the restaurant?

Our vision is to provide a wholesome dining experience, with Top Quality food and a staff that wants to exceed the CUSTOMERS expectations.

Would you be franchising your restaurant in the future?

Yes definitely would like to expand through franchising.

How important are customers for you and how do you insure a perfect customer experience?

All i can say, “Customer is the King”. The best thing about our restaurant is that not only our locals, but also our food is loved by Chinese and Thai community around.

What are your everyday challenges as a restauranteur?

As a restaurantuer, the biggest challenge for me is to insure the quality of Food and service

What do you think of tossdown as a platform for restaurants?

In my point of view, tossdown is providing two major services.

1. tossdown Privilege Cards, a great tool to attract customers with all the efforts done by tossdown team.

2. tossdown website, which has allowed a common customer to share their point of view and their voice being heard among thousands of people everyday. With tossdown, I feel the restaurant owners should remain alert that a simple dissatisfaction may spread to people in a day.

Is there any feature you think is missing in tossdown that can really help the restaurant owners?

Not really. But I would be glad if tossdown can introduce swipe machines (interest free) to provide rewards to its customers.
